Well, it’s official: I’ll be leaving Singapore this summer.
I’m moving back to the States where I’ll be working on my PhD at Yale!
As I was reminded these past few weeks, it turns out that making major life decisions is… not so easy. I don’t think I’ve been so on-edge since, well… since I decided whether or not to move to Singapore!
It’s a bit strange to know my days in the Little Red Dot are numbered, but I’m exited to move on to a new chapter in my life and for all the exciting things on the horizon!
I suppose it’s time to make a SG Bucket List. Who’s in for the Night Safari?

Congrats! I’m considering doing a brief stint in sg as well, and stumbled upon your blog. Seems like you’re having a great time! Enjoy your time left in Asia before transplanting yourself back to the US :D

Thank you thank you! Probably mid-late June – we’ll have to see how things unfold with the lease, etc etc… Yes, we’re long overdue for a catch-up!

Congratulations!
I’m all in for a trip to Night Safari…LOVE IT.
You should totally go see the Crane Dance before you leave Singapore.
While New Haven is generally just something we grit our teeth and drive by on the way to or from NYC, I do know a few cool things to drive to in CT if you’re going to have a car. I can’t recall if you know that area? And if you’re going to Boston…I used to occasionally fill in for the concierge at one of the hotels I worked at, and I worked for a tour company so I know all sorts of stupid stuff (and lived there 10 years). I also know some great spots in NYC that aren’t in the guide books.
Mostly I’ll be jealous that you’ll be shopping at Target again in no time!

Oh great! I’m gonna be hiting you up for New England suggestions soon! I’m excited – I have a lot of friends in Boston and NYC, so I hope I’ll be able to see them (and Target) more frequently!

Congratuations on grad school!!! I hope you enjoy it as much as my daughter is. It’s a lot of work but I think she enjoys the mental stimulation and she has a great cohort. I’ll miss your blog, though. It’s been a lot of fun reading about your adventures :)

Maybe I’ll just have to switch the blog title: suddenlyinschool(again)

Ooh then we should go! There’s even one at Resorts World Sentosa if you want to go to RWS. Hehe. When do you leave? (As a Singaporean I have no concept of when “summer” actually starts.) I’m not sure if we’ll be able to find a time before I go to Thailand on the 11th, and I won’t be back until the 21st.

Probably not until June…so we still have time! Yeah, let’s go to the DTF at RWS! I haven’t been there yet either!

Congratulations Kirsten! Check you out!
Well if you can wait about a week, I’d love to join you and your mates at the Night Safari. I was thinking of signing up for a tour there.
Have you been to Bintan Lagoon? I might stay there for a weekend while in Singapore.

Thanks Fidel! Haven’t been to Bintan Lagoon, but I think I’m behind everyone else – most of my friends have been and enjoyed it!

Imma in for the night safari as well. SO MANY CONGRATS. What a wonderful opportunity. If you need any New Haven help, let me know. Lots of friends who either went to and/or teach at Yale. Definitely need to catch up with you before you leave!
